Scott W. Shaw, MBA, CLU^®, ChFC^®

Partner

Scott is a Partner of Your Vision Financial Group. He is a graduate of Simpson College and the University of Iowa Business School.  He started his career in the Financial Services Industry in 2003.  In 2016 he joined Kevin Lindblom at Your Vision Financial Group.  Over that time, he has been excited to be a part of creating a team built around educating and supporting clients so that they can enjoy financial confidence.

Scott enjoys getting to know his clients.  As they share their personal and financial goals, he is able to take part in creating and implementing solutions that support those goals.

Scott is a Financial Advisor with Eagle Strategies LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser.  In that role Scott can help clients with their insurance and investment needs.  He can also provide his clients with customized financial plans that address their concerns and pursue their financial objectives.

Scott believes that it is his purpose in all areas of life to help people understand, grow, and gain confidence.

Michael Poch

Financial Advisor

Before joining New York Life in 2018, Mike was a firefighter with the City of Cedar Rapids for 10 years.  While being a firefighter was very rewarding, Mike chose to begin a new career where he could continue pursuing his passion of helping and protecting people in our community while also prioritizing his family.  Mike is from the small town of Riverside, Iowa and is the youngest of four children.  He resides in Iowa City with his beautiful wife, Sarah, and four sons with whom he bleeds black and gold for our Hawkeyes.

Mike values hard work, honesty and integrity and these values drive his commitment to continuously improve in both his personal and professional life.  This led to receiving the New Agent of the Year award in all three years he was eligible as well as being recognized as a New York Life Council agent each year of his career.

As a Financial Advisor with Eagle Strategies LLC, Financial Services Certified Professional and Registered Investment Advisor, Mike believes in providing a space for his clients to work toward their individual goals by providing comprehensive financial planning that includes Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Long Term Care Insurance and Retirement Planning Solutions.

Mike officially joined YVFG in 2024 after working closely with both Scott and Kevin over the past few years.

Colton White

Financial Services Professional

Colton is a competitive young advisor at Your Vision Financial Group. He is dedicated to his education and loves learning as much as he can about his clients.

As a Financial Services Professional and Agent of New York Life Insurance Company since 2020, Colton specializes in helping people better understand their current financial situation and clarify their most important goals, allowing them to make educated decisions toward those goals.

Colton has acquired his Financial Services Certified Professional (FSCP) designation from the American College and is working towards another.

Colton lives in Cedar Rapids. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family, the majority of whom live here in Iowa. Originally from O'Fallon, MO, Colton and his identical twin brother came to Iowa to play football and study business together at Coe College.

Roger Carlson

Associate Financial Advisor

Roger was born and raised on a farm in southwest Iowa, is a graduate of Iowa State University, and earned his MBA from the University of Iowa. He previously worked as an agent and Partner with New York Life. Roger joined YVFG in 2022. He works in tandem with the advisors, constructing solutions for our clients. His favorite part of the job is simplifying the complexities of asset management so clients can feel empowered about their financial decisions.

Jack Shaw

Associate Financial Advisor

Jack graduated from Coe College in 2023 where he earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in business management and a minor in Economics. He was a member of the football team for four years and a captain.

Jack started as an intern at YVFG in the summer of 2022, where he learned the ins and outs of how the business operates. From there, he took his securities certification exams and upon graduation, joined YVFG full time as an Associate Financial Advisor in 2024. Jack enjoys being able to assist clients in reaching their financial goals they set out to achieve.

In his free time, he likes to spend time with friends and family and will go anywhere to play a couple rounds of golf.

Beth Pilcher

Director of Client Services

Beth Pilcher is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Marketing and Public Relations. Prior to joining Your Vision Financial Group, Beth spent nine years working with the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), working closely with insurance agents and financial advisors who were members of the association.

Beth joined Your Vision Financial Group in 2019. As Director of Client Services, Beth manages client service and business processing for the team. She most enjoys meeting people and providing excellent customer service to all of our clients.

Beth was married to Gene in 2011 and they have three children.

Kendolynn Kirby

Administrative Assistant

Kendolynn is a Cedar Rapids native and graduated from Jefferson High School. Upon graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy where she served four years. Her Naval career included assignments aboard the USS Frank Cable AS-40, Charleston Naval Base, and the Mine Countermeasures Group II. After being honorably discharged, she returned to Cedar Rapids to raise a family and continued her education at Hamilton Business College, graduating with a Certificate as a Legal Executive Assistant.

Kendolynn joined YVFG in 2023 as our Administrative Assistant. She takes great pride in providing excellent service to our clients and enjoys building relationships with each of them, whether over the phone or in the office. She can be found at our front desk with a bright smile and a contagious laugh. Kendolynn is always happy to talk about her five grandchildren and enjoys time camping, kayaking, and traveling.

Gracie

Chief Feel-Good Officer

Gracie joined YVFG in 2020. She spends most of her days in the lobby napping and greeting clients. She is a big softy and LOVES being petted. Her goal every day is to be the friendliest dog in town. She has, however, been known to give clients a case of the "warm and fuzzies."

Outside of the office, Gracie likes taking her family on walks to the neighborhood pond so she can go for a nice relaxing swim. Her favorite time of the year is fall, as her biggest passion is retrieving mallard ducks from the marsh. She loves riding and spending time in the hunting boat with her family.
